The Heads of houses were ordering their students into lines.
‘Weasley, straighten your hat,’ Professor McGonagall snapped at Ron. ‘Miss Patil, take that ridiculous thing out of your hair.’
Parvati scowled and removed a large ornamental butterfly from the end of her plait.
” —Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Chapter 15 (Beauxbatons and Durmstrang)About two people have a problem with Fred and Roxanne’s face claims, but we are not changing them. We realize Angelina is black, but George is white too. Also, it is up to the fans imagination what they look like. Just because…
zorawitch: The OP is a professional whitewasher who knows nothing about genetics, obviously. Realistically, one twin would more likely inherit more of George’s genes and one child would most likely inherit more of Angelina’s genes. However, it is possible for both Fred & Roxanne Weasley to inherit MORE of Angelina’s genes because AFRICAN GENES ARE DOMINANT and EUROPEAN GENES ARE RECESSIVE due to a higher concentration of melanin in the African gene pools.
I imagine Fred & Roxanne to be of a light brown sugar complexion with brown freckles and reddish-brown extremely curly-kinky hair. One of them could have George’s more aquiline features and the other Angelina’s more round features as well. THAT is what they’d look like in my head. GTFO out of here with whitewashing. It’s very unlikely BOTH children would be able to “pass” for white.
I’m feeling a little put off. I see Sabina Karlsson and Jade Thompson as Roxanne faceclaims, and these girls are beautiful. Its just…why is it so hard for people to understand that freckles, red hair, and pale skin isn’t require to be a Weasley? I never see (and I won’t say its not out there) Fleur and Bill’s kids with any of those three things, I think I’ve seen Louis portrayed with an actor with red hair once or twice, but they usually all have blonde hair.
So why is there pressure for Roxanne/Fred II to have all three of these things? Like..its okay if they don’t have those things. These things aren’t required. Why is it so wrong for Roxanne/Fred II to just have tan skin and brown hair? Why can’t they have tan skin, brown hair, and freckles? Its just something about it that makes me feel odd…I don’t know why.
Am I overreacting?
I agree with this. Usually I’m just happy to see a FC of an actual biracial (black and white) actress/actor for them. The problem is that people always choose FC that are either redheads or incredibly light skinned. I don’t mind the fact that they are light skinned, but it would be nice to just see a tan/brown haired/biracial girl or boy to play them. It’s kind of like if the fandom can’t have a white person play Fred and Rox, so they will find the closest looking biracial person with red hair.
Sometimes I feel like I’m just splitting hairs, but other times I don’t. Fred and Rox could come out with red hair and freckles. It is possible. Although, more likely they would just be tan with dark to medium brown hair.
Also, I don’t like the unspoken consensus that George’s genes are more important/desirable/dominant than Angelina’s. Which isn’t the case on any front. People just want them to fall into that Weasley look.
It’s a constant battle.
Totally understand the reservations. There are tons of Black biracial actors out there to build headcanons around, we all look different, there is literally someone out there to fit whatever idea someone has about Roxanne/Fred, which is even more of a reason why there is no excuse for these characters to ever be whitewashed.

About two people have a problem with Fred and Roxanne’s face claims, but we are not changing them. We realize Angelina is black, but George is white too. Also, it is up to the fans imagination what they look like. Just because your opinion is different than ours’ does not make yours better nor does it make ours’ any less. If you have problem with something then chances are this RPG is not for you.
… And if those fans just happen to imagine that these biracial children would look completely white, that has nothing to do with racism! If in those fans’ opinion their biracial children should have ONLY white features and skin and hair and everything, that has nothing to do with racism! If those fans choose actors who are white and not black in the slightest to portray these biracial children, that has NOTHING TO DO WITH RACISM!!!
GEORGE IS WHITE TOO! THE KIDS SHOULD BOTH REPRESENT ONLY HIS SKIN COLOUR! GOD THE KIDS HAVE BROWNISH HAIR ISN’T THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU PEOPLE
Say, OP, since this isn’t about racism how thrilled would you have been if somebody had chosen Jaden and Willow Smith for Angelina & George’s kids? Even though they’re not biracial? I mean, I realize George is white, but ANGELINA IS BLACK TOO!
If you have a problem with that, chances are that being a decent human being is not for you.
The thing about it, though, for me, the white FC wouldn’t be so bad if the actual backstory that will be explored for these half-black children would delve into their “blackness”, which would actually make for for a compelling rpg. Where it’s not all white weasleys all the time, but maybe they go visit their grandparents in Jamaica or other Caribbean island, hell, the States (Johnson was stationed in England or something) or whatever (or Angelina’s family were part of old black settlements near Liverpool or something). But you know these characters are just going to be as “white” as their faces, and THAT is why folk are salty at this flippant response.
